Updated the server software used by Talkala to address known security issues.
An import or contact update that finished late could bring back older results after you changed your search or filter. Contacts now keeps the results you chose, with matching totals and the right contacts when you load more.
For payment methods that confirm after checkout, successful confirmation now adds the purchased credit and any eligible bonus to the correct personal or Team Wallet. This includes a new Team's first payment. Repeated or late updates do not add the same credit twice.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
Updated a server component to better protect sensitive information when requests are redirected.
A failed inbox switch could leave conversations from the previous number on screen. Switching now clears the old conversations, keeps older pages with the correct inbox and ignores delayed responses from earlier selections.
If Messages cannot load at first, it now tries again automatically and offers Retry without reloading the page. A loading failure no longer appears as a missing number or an empty inbox.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
A delayed payment update could make a paid personal or Team number invoice appear failed and lower the totals shown in billing. Paid invoices now keep their paid status and recorded totals when updates arrive late or more than once.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
A disputed Team payment could restrict the payer's personal wallet when the payment arrived before Team credit was recorded. Talkala now links the dispute to the correct wallet. Resolving a dispute restores access only when that wallet has no other unresolved or lost disputes.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
Automatic wallet refills can now recover from interrupted requests without creating duplicate payments. Your wallet receives the credit once the payment is confirmed.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
If ownership changes while an automatic top-up is in progress, the completed payment is now added to the same Team Wallet. Payment history keeps the original payer, and the new owner receives the top-up notification.
Google sign-in now checks the current email on your Talkala account. If you corrected your email during sign-up, signing in with that Google email keeps your existing account, credit and call history. Sessions that no longer match the account email require you to sign in again.
Outgoing Team calls now set aside enough credit for their full allowed duration, so other members cannot use credit already reserved for that call. A long call may leave less shared credit available until it ends. You are charged for the connected time under the existing billing rules, and unused reserved credit becomes available again after the call is settled.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
Call messages now distinguish known destination restrictions, unsupported numbers, and connection problems. Restricted destinations no longer get advice to keep retrying, and general failures no longer automatically blame your browser. The Help Center explains what to check next.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
Talkala now lets Twilio select a nearby connection point for browser calls, instead of trying U.S. locations first. This can reduce delay, depending on your network.
When Talkala cannot confirm the connection, choose Check again to recheck the existing call. It does not restart the call. Check that you and the other person can hear each other; this check cannot confirm what either person hears.
Open a call in History or Team Activity and choose Get help with this call. The support form includes its call reference, so you can describe what happened and send the request when ready.
After a personal top-up, Wallet distinguishes a confirmed payment from credit recorded in your balance. While credit is pending, it shows progress and checks for a short time. If it still has not appeared, use Check payment status or Get help before making another payment. The confirmation also has a larger close button.
If Wallet, History or Contacts cannot refresh, a compact notice lets you retry while keeping entered amounts, searches and filters. Information already loaded stays visible with a warning that it may be out of date.
A slow Wallet refresh could finish after you left the page and replace the header balance with an older amount. Talkala now ignores that delayed response.
Talkala now briefly rechecks microphone input before showing a warning, allowing short changes between headphones and your phone to settle. A microphone that remains unavailable still shows guidance.
Open Test mic & sound on Phone to see your microphone level and play a test sound through your device's default output. The optional check stays on your device and does not place a call or test the phone network.
The optional sound-quality question could be missing after an eligible outgoing call ended. It now appears when that call is eligible for feedback.
Updated the calling library with fixes for reconnection error reporting and handling an audio output device becoming unavailable.
Updated image-processing and supporting software to address reported security issues.
Internal maintenance. No changes to customer-facing features.
The Team creation form uses less space, with name and image guidance below the Team name field.
The compact spending chart leaves more room for activity, and the filters make better use of the available space. Expand an entry to see its recorded call and billing details.
Names and available photos from your Team address book appear alongside matching destination numbers in Activity.
Personal and Team Contacts could briefly show a loading error when opened or refreshed before recovering. Their initial load now succeeds.
Removing your Auto Top-up card previously opened a browser popup with a generic OK button. It now opens a Talkala dialog with clear Cancel and Remove card buttons and explains what happens to automatic top-ups.
Call summaries now use a slimmer card with clearly labelled duration and charge details. The outgoing call screen shows a flag beside the destination country, and the Phone balance warning sits beside its label.
The Wallet balance card has a subtle Talkala symbol with soft shading. The paused Smart Auto Top-up message now has a pause icon and clearer spacing beside the title.
The call timer now stays beside the call status at the top of the Phone screen, whether the keypad is open or closed. This leaves more room for the caller details and controls.
The outgoing Phone screen now shows pictures from the contacts loaded in the dialer. Team incoming calls and notices show a saved picture when the callerโs number matches a contact in the receiving Team. Call pictures also fit their round frame correctly. When no picture is available, the usual fallback remains.
Some paid personal calls still ended at around three minutes after the previous fix, even with enough credit. This update fixes the remaining problem that prevented those calls from using more available credit. Normal balance and call limits still apply.
If microphone access is denied, Talkala shows one warning instead of repeating it. The setup buttons stay on separate rows so their text is readable.
Some paid personal calls ended at about three minutes even with enough credit. This release addressed one cause. Some calls still ended early; the remaining case is addressed in version 1.0.4. Normal call limits still apply.
During a call, the large balance card now shows how much credit is temporarily reserved, making a drop in available balance easier to understand. This credit has not been charged; unused reserved credit becomes available again after the call ends and its final charge is confirmed.
Some calls could be recorded as connected while they were still being set up. Talkala now waits for confirmation that the call connected. Call records also keep the correct start time, so activity reports show when calls actually began.
Updated software used by Talkala to include published security fixes. You do not need to change any settings.
A paid personal call could temporarily set aside enough credit for up to four hours, making your available balance look much lower even for a short call. Eligible calls now start by setting aside up to three minutes of credit, adding small amounts as the call continues and your balance and call limits allow. The final charge is still based on connected time, rounded up to whole minutes. Unused reserved credit is released once that charge is confirmed.
The small balance display at the top of the page now shows credit temporarily set aside for a call separately from your available balance. You can see how much you can spend and how much is reserved for the call. When nothing is reserved, only your normal balance appears.
Enter a mobile or landline number, see the price per minute before calling, and call from your browser without installing a calling app.
Eligible new accounts can try one free call lasting up to 60 seconds before adding a card. The offer applies only to destinations and call prices covered by the free-minute offer.
Add calling credit before you use it, check your available balance and past payments, and see what each completed call cost.
For eligible paid personal calls, credit added to your wallet can let the call continue beyond its original balance limit once the payment is confirmed. Other call limits still apply. If you have already turned Auto Top-up on, it can also add credit automatically when your balance gets low, including during eligible calls.
Manage a personal Talkala number, choose the number you show when calling, and read text messages sent to your Talkala number. Where receiving calls is available, turn it on and keep your browser ready so calls to your number can ring there.
Save people you call as contacts and find recent calls easily. Review call details alongside the credit added to or spent from your wallet.
Create a Team, invite people, and share calling credit and contacts. Members can use Team numbers and messages according to the permissions given to them.
Owners and admins can turn on receiving for eligible paid U.S. and Canada Team numbers and choose up to ten teammates to answer. Their browsers ring together when they are available and ready; the first person to answer takes the call. Answered calls use Team credit, and require enough Team balance and room within that member's calling limit.
Share your referral link. When someone uses it to sign up and adds credit to their wallet for the first time with a successful payment, you receive calling credit.
Call notices, controls and summaries are easier to read. On smaller screens, it is also easier to switch Teams and reach the calling controls.
Choose a profile picture or upload your own photo. New Teams start with an illustrated picture, and owners or admins can choose another or upload an image. Existing Teams keep their current picture or initials until someone changes it.
Calling and wallet labels are easier to read, adding your first card is clearer, and Team name and picture setup is easier to use. Auto Top-up lets you choose a balance trigger down to the cent, such as $5.50. Tutorials appear beside the settings they explain, including the Auto Top-up guide in Wallet.
Talkala handles returning after your phone locks or you switch apps, and changing between Wi-Fi and mobile data, more reliably. On supported devices and browsers, it can also keep the screen awake during a call.
A finished call could leave an old call screen behind. It now clears after the call ends, so Phone is ready for the next call.
Updates about payments and finished calls can arrive late or more than once. Talkala handles these updates more reliably so your balance and history reflect the payment or call correctly.
Strengthened checks that you are signed in and have permission before you change account details or access shared Team information.
